Recently, one of my fellow Armenians who grew up in the US told me that an Armenian Bible app played a huge role in helping him improve his Armenian language skills. That made me think that using a Bible app for that is actually a genius idea. Many people around the world, regardless of their religious affiliation, are either familiar with the Old Testament, or with separate biblical stories through the Quran, Torah, Gospel or Psalms. And reading familiar stories in Armenian can certainly support language learning. And since I love all kinds of useful apps, I decided to write a review about The Armenian Holy Bible app.
The Armenian Bible app is free to download, and it works on both iOS and Android devices. The interface is very simple and intuitive. It doesn’t take much storage space and offers many useful features such as the ability to search, highlight verses and make bookmarks.
There are multiple Bible apps on the market but this one is what I think is the best. I love that the app’s interface makes using it very easy and intuitive. Let me know your opinion about the app after using it. Ping me on Instagram or Twitter with #ArmeniaTravelTips. Now, let’s have a look at what this app offers.
Is the Armenian Bible app free to download?
Yes, the Armenian Bible app is free. You can download it both from Play Market and the App Store by following the respective links. But before you even download the app, I would suggest you first get yourself equipped with some basic knowledge about Armenia’s religion and what we believe in. I think this post is quite detailed and will give you a quite good understanding of our religion. Whether you are Armenian from the diaspora, or you are a foreigner who wants to know more about us, I think the knowledge of our version of Christianity is going to be very helpful on your cultural journey.

What is the app?
The Armenian Bible app is so simple to use because of the minimalistic interface. I guess the app developers did everything to make the app convenient and easy to use for anyone. When you open the app you’ll see two separate buttons for the “Old Testament “and the “New Testament”. By clicking on each, you will be directed to the separate chapters of those books.
In fact, each chapter seems so short in the app that you don’t feel overwhelmed like you’re reading a really long book. With the Armenian Bible app, it’s quicker to read, search for some lines, take notes and highlight parts that you want to come back to. I think such immersive learning doesn’t just help from the linguistic perspective, but it can also help you understand the Bible stories from a new, contemporary perspective.
I think many would agree that in the context of the modern world, the literal interpretation of biblical texts is quite problematic and outdated. So, for me, it’s a great opportunity to look at these old stories from a modern perspective and understand the metaphoric lessons they give us today. Like with any religious writing, I think we need to take the best lessons of love, compassion, acceptance and community service from them.
One thing that is missing in the app is the audio narration. I believe that these days many people have realized the amazing benefits of audiobooks. And having the flexibility of both reading and listening to a book is hugely beneficial in any learning process. So, I think the app developers should definitely consider adding a narration feature to it. In the meantime, I have a link to this YouTube playlist for you. It can serve you as an audio version of the book.

Benefits of the app
There are a bunch of benefits that make the user experience better and easier for their users. And, of course, the developers of the Armenian Bible app work constantly and aim to expand the app’s functionalities. I think the app is simple enough to use but they can make it better visually. So, let’s just move to all the benefits that the app currently offers.
Benefits of the Armenian Bible app:
- Works without an Internet connection (offline)
- Ability to search
- Ability to increase or decrease the font
- Ability to create an unlimited number of tabs to a particular verse, one of the books
- Ability to scroll through the volume buttons
Final thoughts on the Armenian Bible app
Like I said, the Armenian Bible app has a bunch of benefits that make me think it’s a great option for immersive learning – both the Armenian language and our past lessons. Don’t forget to give me some feedback on the app as well when you start using the app. You can either tweet or Instagram me your opinions and thoughts with #ArmeniaTravelTips.
