Dental tourism in Armenia has been growing thanks to affordable prices and high-quality dental services offered in the country. Armenia has gained a reputation for state-of-the-art technology and highly skilled dentists that are trained to international standards. Coupled with Armenia’s rich history and culture, it makes the country a great destination for dental tourism.

Why do an implant and what to look at?

Before we dive into the cost of dental implants in Armenia, let’s contemplate why you may want to do an implant.

Over the years, you may lose some of your teeth and dental implants are an excellent solution for tooth loss. Even though other options exist, you may still prefer an implant over dentures and bridges because implants are durable, long-lasting and look like natural teeth.

However, they may be more costly than bridges and the treatment takes a lot longer. Therefore, if you plan to do an implant in Armenia, think about timing as well. There is also an option of immediate placement though. For example, at GDC clinic they do one-step implantation which means the installation of any temporary structure on the implant is done on the day of implantation or within a week.

And what to look for to be sure that the work will be up to the level? There are two factors that play a role in implant quality. First, whether the doctor is skilled enough. The second is the implant system.

I would advise you to investigate the reputation of the clinic and the particular doctor before you decide to turn to them. When it comes to implant systems, there are several that are high-quality and they are successfully applied in Armenia. For example, the same GDC clinic in Armenia applies Nobel Biocare systems in their premium offer and AlphaBio Tec systems for all others. Both are high-quality systems, of course, but particularly in the case of the Swedish-US brand Nobel Biocare, it’s worth noting that they have a worldwide reputation as the number 1 implant system.

Factors that affect the cost of dental implants in Armenia

There are several factors that may affect the cost of dental implants in Armenia.

  • The number of teeth being replaced: you may get discounts if you decide to replace more teeth. This is a usual practice in Armenia. So, if you decide to do your teeth here, it’s better to fix as many as you need and don’t leave something for a future date.
  • The type of implant being used: there are various types of implants used in Armenia. The most common type is the screw implant. It is made of titanium and has a cylinder or cone shape. There are other types available in the market. For example, one of the leading clinics Avanta uses various well-known brands from Israel, Russia, Germany, and elsewhere.
  • The experience of the doctor: if you are not lucky enough to get a recommendation from a friend, the best way to learn about the competence of the doctor is to read reviews. You can find their pages on Instagram and Facebook. Also, don’t underestimate the reviews on Google and Yandex maps.
  • The location of the dental clinic: normally Yerevan is a high-cost when it comes to dental implants as compared to clinics in the regions. On the other hand, your chances of getting a service with state-of-an-art technology and the best doctors are higher in Yerevan.
  • Additional services: you may need additional services such as bone grafting or sinus lifts that may add up to the cost.

Why should you choose Armenia for dental care?

Aside from the cost, there are a lot of advantages in choosing Armenia for dental implant treatment. The country is known for its well-developed dental industry. There are a lot of highly qualified dentists working in many reputable dental clinics in Armenia. Here are some with the best reviews:

All of these clinics are equipped with modern and advanced technology. The prices for dental care are so much more affordable in Armenia than in many western countries because the cost of living in Armenia is relatively low, so dentists can afford to live at a much lower cost than in the USA or Great Britain, for example. I guess, the clinics also don’t pay as much taxes as in the USA or Western European countries.

In addition to this, Armenia is an interesting country just for traveling purposes. You can enjoy your time and visit hundreds of beautiful sites across Armenia while also receiving the dental care you need. Armenia is a small country. You can travel from Yerevan to the furthest part of Armenia in 4 hours. So, be prepared to travel throughout the whole country and not only enjoy your time in Yerevan.
